Wastewater Treatment
To achieve remote centralized management of the wastewater treatment plant, InHand Networks offers a “cloud + end” remote monitoring solution featuring the IG502 edge gateway and InConnect, delivering real-time communications and efficient monitoring & control.
Background
Rural sewage treatment stations have the characteristics of small size and large number of sites. The traditional management method for manual watch and inspection sites. As the site usually can not be equipped with professional operation and maintenance personnel, resulting in untimely troubleshooting, poor sewage treatment effect. And it is difficult to achieve the site’s discharge standards. At the same time, the site needs to be manually guarded and inspected, so the labor costs remain high.
Customer Requirements
Real-time Monitoring, Complete Control of Various Data
Achieve remote monitoring and management of multiple pump rooms distributed across communities, enable real-time observation of operational status and water quality, increasing management efficiency, thus ensuring high-quality water supply services for residents.
Prompt Alerts for Preventive Maintenance
Online warning services enable maintenance staff to promptly detect anomalies, take maintenance measures and thus improve efficiency.
Intelligent Data Analysis
Achieve intelligent diagnosis of the wastewater treatment site’s operational status through in-depth data exploration and analysis. This helps improve decision-making, saving waste resource, and optimizes services.
Solution
Ethernet devices such as PLCs and cameras in the wastewater treatment station are connected to the IG502 gateway via the ISE1005D and the industrial protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, ISO on TCP, etc. The IG502 collects operational data from equipment such as gas pumps, lift pumps, valves, dosing tanks and flow meters, with data volumes of up to hundreds.
The collected data is subjected to data operation, quality alarm detection and other data preprocessing at the edge side. The processed data in accordance with the format required by the wastewater treatment online monitoring platform (hereinafter referred to as “cloud platform”) through 4G cellular or wired network reported to the cloud platform based on Amazon AWS server deployment (companies can also build cloud platforms based on Microsoft Azure and other public or private clouds) and respond to the control instructions issued by the cloud platform.
Capabilities
High-speed, Secure, and Reliable Network Connectivity
The IG502 is available with LTE, Wi-Fi, and wired connections. It incorporates multiple link redundancy technologies to ensure a consistently high-speed and reliable network connection. This guarantees uninterrupted device operation within a continuous network transmission environment.
Easy Remote Monitoring and Reduced Costs
The IG502 supports major PLC protocols, making it easy to send device data to the cloud for remote monitoring and preventive maintenance, reducing operational costs and improving customer satisfaction.
Remote maintenance of Customer Devices with the InConnect
The IG502 supports the InConnect remote access service, providing a VPN remote maintenance channel for updating and debugging PLC programs and swiftly responding to device malfunctions.
Easy Management for Large-scale Deployment
With web-based configuration, the IG502 is user-friendly. The Device Manager efficiently centralizes the management of numerous devices, allowing real-time monitoring of gateway operational status from anywhere.
